Energy plantations for use as fuel in bioelectric plants projected in Cuba
Main Article Content
Abstract
In the last years the use of biomass as energy resource to reduced dependent from fossil combustible with more quality and stable availability as well as compatible with the environment according to resource planning has increased. In this way our country has traced a goal to project and install 25 bioelectric plants associate to equal amount of sugar mills in order to work sustainable with or without biomass from sugar cane during ten months, been necessary to establishes energetic forest plantations in selected area in order to respond to the demand of generation capacity from each bioelectric plant. The main objective of this paper is to determine how much hectares of energetic forest of Eucalyptus pellita F. Muell. and Eucalyptus saligna Smith are needed as biomass combustible to guaranty the operation of 25 bioelectric plants projected. The result indicated that are necessary a total of 39 150 ha.
