Retention of carbon and proposal of mitigation´s alternartives of Guanahacabibes´s Agroforestry Enterprise
Main Article Content
Abstract
In this work are presented the results of the carbon retention of natural and artificial forests, areas to reforest, unfrosted areas and total (base year, base line) for the Guanahacabibes´s Agroforestry Enterprise, as well as of three mitigation´s alternatives, with the objective of evaluating the contribution from its forest patrimony to the mitigation of the climatic change. The prosecution was made with the automated system SUMFOR v. 3.03. The Enterprise 29 410, 47 MtC accumulated, equivalent to a removal of 107 642, 31 MtCO2 of the atmosphere it stops at the end of the year 2017, showing an excellent contribution to the mitigation of the climatic change. The alternative that provides bigger retention of carbon is the increase of the Half Annual Increment of the artificial forests and that of smaller expense and cost is the decrease of the annual surface of burnt established artificial forests.
