Populational structures of Magnolia orbiculata in the Zonal Unit of Conservation The Cojo, Turquino National Park

Abstract
Magnolia orbiculata (Britton & p. Wilson) Palmarola is an endemic tree of Cuba that is vulnerable of extinction. With the objective of characterizing their population structure, 10 temporary parcels of 10 x 10 m were marked following a non-probabilistic design of sampling. In each parcel was registered the number of individuals and grouped in diametric classes and height classes, the development phases were determined. The pattern of space distribution was also determined through the relationship of average variance. 38 individuals were found, in their majority adults, with a diametric structure in bell form, while the structure of sizes presented higher frequency in the superior classes of height. 24 % is in juvenile stadiums, of them 7 % are seedlings, 7 % juvenils and 10 % belong to the category adult juvenile, while 76 % is in the adult phase. The pattern of space distribution is added with an index of 1,2.
