Abstract
The present work shows the results of the use of different substrates of soils for the vegetative propagation of Bambusa vulgaris Schrader ex Wendland in conditions of forest tree nurseries. The study was carried out in the tree nursery of Agro-Forestry Experiment Station in Viñales. We used a completely randomized design: four substrates were tested in the propagation by pegs and sucker removing. These, having like base of their composition: soil coming from the pine forests of the area, washed river sand, worm humus and it upsets. With the use of the compound substrate for (80 % of soil coming from the of the area, 10 % of humus and 10 % of washed river sand) the most appropriate results were obtained for: bigger than plantules achievement, half height of the postures and in the half number of children for bag, giving sample of being this substrates that of the most appropriate characteristics for the vegetative propagation of the species Bambusa vulgaris Schrader ex Wendland under the conditions of forest tree nurseries in the Alturas de Pizarras region of Pinar del Río, Cuba.
