Prescribed burns effect in physical and chemical soil properties at Hidrological Station Amistad
Main Article Content
Abstract
The research was carried out in a natural blended forest of Pinus tropicalis Morelet, and Pinus caribaea var. caribaea of the Forest Hydrological Station Amistad. The main objetive was to evaluate the effects of prescribed burns in physical and chemical soil characteristics. Five sampleng puntos were stablished in plots of 10000 m², soil samples were collected from o to 10 cm depth and 10 to 20 cm depth. The results show that prescribed burns increase some physical and chemical soil properties such as: pH variations from 3,90 to 4,02, and cations Ca+2, Mg+2 and K +, with stabilization 36 months after the prescribed burn, and a significative decrease of the capacity of cationic exchange related to with nutrients soil poverty .
