Etnobotánica de la cuenca hidrográfica del río Puercos (Parte I)

Abstract
As an element that contributes to the know ledge of Rio Puerco´s watershed in La Palma Municipality at Pinar del Rio Province; we have carried out the etnobotanical study of the middle and bass part of it where is concentrated the major population community. The main objectives of this study are to emphasize the knowledge of the watershed‘s inhabitants about the vegetable species Its utilization as green medicine and others usages taking into account the different properties of them. This area is integrated by a little town and some isolated houses. The used methodology was the open interview and the survey was realized to a total of 97 peoples of both sexes, different occupations, ages and cultural levels. In this study we take into account 62 species of 58 different genres from 47 botanic families and anthropocentric categories.
